How light enters the camera

How a Camera works Light enters the camera through the barrel lens, where it goes through the adjustable aperture which controls the among of light which enters the camera. The larger the hole the more light can enter which means the F number is lower allowing the subject to be in focus and the background to be blurred. the smaller the aperture hole the higher the F number, this means less light enters the camera and the full frame is in focus. The light then hits the back mirror infont of the shutter and the sensor plate where it is reflected into the prism of mirrors in the top of the camera out through the viewfinder where the photographer can see it. When taking a image the mirror has to move for the shutter to release, this is the split second where the photographers vision goes blank.  This image shows the part of a camera. Theory of semiotics Signifier - what it makes you think of. A noun like and object. examples - cat and rose Signified- what I end up thinking, everyones of this is different an individual thought. Its never more than a idea. example- a ginger cat or a red rose is what I think of. Denotation- All the signs have a single basic or literal meaning. The evidence of what you see, say what you see. example- the apple logo and bite taken out of a apple. Connotation- develops when signs and codes are placed within a particular context. Memory or idea from a cue and its bought to mind. The image which is presented within your mind for example a rose signifies love to me. Symbolic sign- this has no resemblance between the signifier and the signified. The connection is culturally learnt. For example the number 7 can be seen an lucky or unlucky. Evaluation

Evaluation Throughout this project I have learnt that there are lots of different ways to use a camera to produce an outcome. I have learnt that a camera is not needed to create a image such as, a photogram and pinhole image. These techniques are not to be rushed as they need the right kind of conditions like the weather for a pinhole. I think I did well to develop through using the pinhole technique are some of my very first attempts were not a success. I feel like I turnt it into a strength. I think the area I could develop in is giving an area of specific object the focus point of the image. I think this could make an image more interesting. I could have improved by taking another set of images to prove and develop other skills besides landscapes. Although, I am pleased with my final images, I feel like a second set of photos may have be seen a irrelevant or be confusing compared with my first set.
